In January 2021, I found out my left coronary artery was 99% blocked. At 49, I got a stent. I was running a creative shop, had two kids graduating during COVID, and was completely burned out. Like recycle me cause I'm done kind of burned out.
I had everything I thought I wanted — my own shop, my creative space — but I was going through the motions, running on autopilot, giving everything to everyone else. Why wasn't I happy?
Then I started having vivid dreams I actually remembered — brown bears, black panthers, kittens. I Googled every one. Every single image meant rebirth and transformation. The universe was screaming at me to pay attention, but I was too lost in the doing to listen.
In November 2021, I closed my shop. Didn't care about holiday sales. I was done.
That's when I went back to my art journal and finally started listening instead of just doing all the time. As I dove into transformational work, I realized: it wasn't just me. Every woman around me was living as someone she thought she was supposed to be instead of who she actually was.
Here's what I know: You don't have an overthinking problem or a confidence problem. You have an identity problem. You're operating as a version of yourself that was never really yours to begin with.
